I gotta sore throat. from, of course, shouting and reasoning with our teacher!! ^^ i mean, its not fair!! Why should I apologise to someone for something i didnt Do?? and hello, mr wan, u said 30 mins and took up my 15mins, causin me to get onli 25 (!!!!) for the volume test. so technically it is still ur fault. hehehe. :D

and btw, pls can i pls whack chin teng, darren and daruis really hard whenever we r goin thru prac papers this week?? pls?? or at least scream at them?? they are so annoying and talkative and its really hard for the ppl around them to concentrate and listen carefully to wad ur saying!!!! and its really affecting us. if they dun wan to listen fine, but they keep on talkin for the entire lesson sometimes!!!! so pls? can i whack 'em??

Sorry for being late during supplementary. I did not want to be late too. You said we could type anything so i will tell you about my singing experience. I was happy as I got to sing with Darius and Daryl. I was also as I got to sing. I sang altogether 12 songs and i will be singing again tomorrow and after the exams...I am looking forward to singing with anyone as i want somebody to sing with me tell me tomorrow or Monday and tell me the day. i will try to agree with whatever you all say and the songs you want me to sing. hahaha... my favourite song is "The Take Over The Breaks Over" by "Fall Out Boy"...i still dunno what song to sing tomorrow as some of the songs are not suitable for me and some of them are girl songs. i hope that more and more people would appreciate my singing.so bye for now.really really hope you appreciate my singing.i know my singing is not good but pls pls pls appreciate it...

Silly Little Conflicts (Mr Wan)

I've been informed of the scuffle. I'm appalled to learn that it's been blown out of proportions.

First of all, I think some of you have been abusing Mr Chan's trust in you by getting out of the class to do unnecessary things. During my lessons, I don't allow more than 1 person to the toilet. Even when there is more than one, one of the parties must be feeling ill.

Secondly, there're too many things happening lately and I'm a little late in interventing it. Some of you have sensed unfairness in the punishment. Bear in mind that there is more than 1 person who owes blog entries. If we want to pursue, we'll do so after the exams. On top of that, I'm more disturbed by Sherman's, Chin Teng's, Sean Tan's, Jean Tay's and Wei Bin's attitude in studies than some missing blog entries. While they're fighting for their survival in 6H, you're bickering away in trivial issues.

Thirdly, I'm saddened by the lack of actions by the admin editors but I'm very pleased with Joslyn's intervention. There're so many blog editors with pictures listed. So far, I've only seen Andrew working on it. I'd like to propose the number of editors to be restrained to Andrew, Pei Zhen and Joslyn, whom I've seen more actions from than others.

Fourthly, I do not need some clowns to rub salt on wounds. While this issue is flaming in the blog, there is some other clown who wants to rub it in. Are you helping in the issue? Or are you fanning the flame further? Thankfully, Joslyn was sensible enough to make an attempt to resolve the conflict. And my warning for this clown is: BUCK UP IN YOUR OWN STUDIES or I'll make you a real ghost. This, I promise.

If this issue still bothers you that much, let me know via email. If you want to help me up, you can whip those 5 pupils to improve in their attitude in work. If there is someone worth some attention in class, it'll be the five of them.

Meanwhile, it's great to learn that Sean Wong, Ina, Cheryl, Wai Keng, Wei Chong have all improved in their learning attitude, compared to the first 6 months. Keep it going, guys! You'll soon earn what you deserve.

The largest tree in the world is as tall as a 27-story building. It has a branch that is thicker than an average person is tall (6 feet, 9-1/2 inches). And if you turned the wood in its trunk into 12-inch-wide planks, they would stretch for more than 100 miles end to end.
The tree is the General Sherman Tree, a 275-foot-tall giant sequoia in Sequoia National Park in California. It was named in the 1870s for the Civil War general, William Tecumseh Sherman. It is not the tallest tree in the world, or the oldest. But based on the volume of its trunk, it is the biggest.
"This is the most massive tree on earth," says Bill Libby, a retired professor of forestry and genetics at the University of California, Berkeley. It also may be the largest living thing on earth and one of the fastest growing organisms. Trees keep growing and adding a ring of wood underneath the bark each year.
Those growth rings provide scientists much information about trees. "They act like these incredible books for reading about the past," says Nate Stephenson, a research ecologist with the US Geological Survey in Sequoia National Park. Scientists can count the rings to tell how old a tree is and when droughts slowed the tree's growth.
The General Sherman Tree is so big that no one has been able to count all its rings. So no one knows exactly how old it is. People once thought the tree might be as old as 6,000 years. But Dr. Stephenson did a study a few years ago and determined that it is about 2,150 years old. "It is still only an estimate, and it can be off by centuries," he says.
Sequoias come from tiny seeds that look like flakes of oatmeal. The seeds form in cones that can stay on the tree for 20 years. Sometimes squirrels help spread the seeds around by eating the cones. The heat from fires also makes the cones open and release their seeds.
That's just one way that fire helps sequoias grow. Fire also kills fungus in the soil that can attack sequoia seedlings. And it clears the ground so the new seedlings can grow. The giant trees are protected from most fires by their bark, which can be more than a foot thick, says Ronald Lanner, author of "Conifers of California."
Even so, very few seeds actually grow into giant trees. Some seeds are eaten by birds or small animals. Some seedlings don't get enough light. Others get too much. The seedlings that survive grow taller and taller for hundreds of years. Most stop getting taller before they reach 300 feet, although they keep getting bigger around.
Sometimes sequoias get so big that they fall over. In fact, this is the main way giant sequoias die, says William Tweed, who retired as chief park naturalist in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
Mr. Tweed once heard a giant sequoia fall. He was giving a nature walk on a cloudless day when all of sudden he heard what sounded like "thunder in a canyon that echoes around," he says. "It was just so powerful that you stopped paying attention to anything else. It was like being buzzed by a jet aircraft at 100 feet when you didn't know it was there."
Tweed reached the fallen sequoia about 15 minutes after it had collapsed. The freshly broken wood was wet and cold, he says. The inside of a giant sequoia is "just like being down in a cave or a deep basement."and this is the end!!!!!!hope that you guys enjoy and good for your exams!!!

Good or Bad, Hard to Say

This is something to ponder .... A powerful message behind a simple story! Read on ...

Once upon a time, there was a king. The king liked one of his followers very much because he was very wise and always gave very useful advice.

Therefore the king took him along wherever he went. One day, the king was bitten by a dog, his finger was injured and the wound was getting worse. He asked the follower if that was a bad sign. The follower said, 'Good or bad, hard to say'. In the end, the finger of the king was too bad that it had to be cut. The king asked the follower again if that was a bad sign. Again, the follower gave the same answer, 'Good or bad, hard to say'.

The king became very angry and sent the follower to prison.

One day, the king went hunting in the jungle. He got excited when he was on the chase of a deer. Deeper and deeper he went inside the jungle. In the end he found himself lost in the jungle. To make thing worse, he got captured by the native people living inside the jungle. They wanted to sacrifice him to their god. But when they noticed that the king had one finger short, they released him immediately as he was not a perfect man anymore and not suitable for sacrifice.

The king managed to get back to his palace after all. And he finally understood the follower's wise quote, 'Good or bad, hard to say'. If he hadn't lost one finger, he could have been killed by the native people.

He ordered the release of the follower, and apologized to him. But to the king's amazement, the follower was not mad at him at all. Instead, the follower said, 'It wasn't a bad thing that you locked me up.'

Why? Because if the king hadn't locked the follower up, he would have brought the follower along to the jungle. If the native found that the king was not suitable, they would have used the follower. Again, the quote 'Good or bad, hard to say' stands.

The moral of the story :

In everything that happens in this world, there is no absolute good or bad.

Sometimes good things turn out to be bad things eventually, while bad things become a gain.

Whatever good things that happen to you, enjoy it, but don't have to hold too tight to it, treat it as a surprise in your life. Whatever bad things happen to you, don't have to feel too sad or in despair, in the end, it might not be a total bad thing after all. If one can understand this, he or she will find life much easier.

A Great Series (Mr Wan)

I've just come across this series called Artemis Fowl. I think Joslyn or Jean might have recommended that before.

Just curious. Who has read the series of books on Artemis Fowl before? Joslyn? Alicia? Jean? Cheryl?

Alicia and Joslyn seem to write in that style previously.

I must emphasize. Those are great books. I've just bought 3 of them. They'd be good for writers like Joslyn, Alicia, Siti and Sarah. Totally match their style. Jean, Cheryl, Sean Tan and Bryan might enjoy them too.

For the rest, you might take a greater time to understand the deeper meaning to the books. Nevertheless, I'd recommend them to P5 to Sec 4 pupils.

Final Destination 5?

This is a story that i wrote based on the continuous question for the PSLE compo this yr. this is a story, never write this for compo unless u wanna get a 0/40..... without the visiting friend bit of coz.......and its supposed to be in present tense......



Final Destination 5??



"Hurry up Jade!! The train has already arrived!" my friend, Roxxi, exclaims.



"Coming," I say.



We run down the escalator and manage to catch the train destine for Harbourfront in time. Since the train is not packed with commuters, both Roxxi and I quickly find ourselves each a seat and settle down in the second last carriage of the train. As we do not have much to talk about, soon, I nod off.......



Suddenly, the train jerks and then stops. The lights flicker on and off. The passengers on board the train stop talking loudly and look around some are cursing and swearing, while others look worried. Although i cannot see Roxxi in this dim light, i can feel her gripping onto her plastic chair tightly. I can feel her tension. I now i am very afraid deep down, but I try to stay calm-telling myself that this is just another ordinary drill.



Minutes later, I am still not convinced even though it is I that is telling myself that it is not real. The train hasn't started moving yet and the commuters are all talking amongst themselves. I turn to look at Roxxi and she looks as frightened as a mouse and she is sweating. She turns to look at me too. She smiles feebly but both of us are way too frightened to say a word to each other. I am sweating now.



All of a sudden, we see some bright orange-yellow light, most likely from another train. Thinking that the train would definitely notice us, the passengers don't really care. However, as it starts moving nearer and nearer to our train, it doesn't stop. If it does not stop, any moment now, it can crash into us. We scream at it to stop, but it doesn't.



Like as if it is a dream, that train crashes into us. It goes right into the last carriage of our train before anyone can react. Straight away, all of the passengers get up onto our feet and start running us fast as we can into the middle of the train. Then out of a sudden, our train starts moving forward and out of the tunnel. However, we forget that the train behind us is still moving very fast, smashing right though our train. To our relief, we get out of the tunnel we are in and are out onto open tracks. The train behind us has stopped. Roxxi heaves a sigh of relief, I go stiff, as little did we realize that all the metal plates of the smashed carriages are flying towards us as we are going at a very high speed. The train is disconnected. We are in serious danger.



"We gotta jump onto that platform!" Roxxi shouts.



We all look at her as if she belongs in a mental asylum. The metal plates and strong gusts of wind are making all the passengers screaming. We take cover under the plastic seats, not that it would actually help. A sharp metal plate slashes my hand slightly. I scream in pain.

"Jade!! Oh my God!!" Roxxi shrieks,"Come on, we have to jump!"

By now, we've all started to agree with her. One by one, all the passengers jump off the train-cautiously.

After all of us have gotten off the train, the train starts moving at a very, very high speed. All of us women scream, wondering why the driver wont stop.

Almost immediately, the train that once looked new, now shredding. all the metal pieces had fallen apart and now it is flying at us. Like a drama, they fly at everyone, including Roxxi and they are all so sharp. One metal piece flies at me-I dodge. Phew, i think, that was close. We get onto our knees and start to crawl to the entrance in the tunnel since it isn't far. The sharp metal piece hits Roxxi on her back.

"Roxxi!" I cry. i am so tempted to help her, but i know that saving my own life is more important.

i carry on, silently bidding Roxxi farewell. Unbelievably, there are more metal pieces, hitting people one by one-it as if it is a dream, a horrific one. Strangely, none of them hit me. Its as if im just too lucky.

As I get into the tunnel, i realise I am the only survivor of this disaster. Only, i have totally forgotten about the other train that was behind our train. I am so exhausted that i accidentally fall onto the tracks, thinking that it will be alright. Suddenly, the train, like as if the wheels had been rubbed by vaseline, speeds up to me. I scream and sit up. Im too tired to move i just stay there.....

I jolt.

"Hey, Jade, you ok?? you were screaming just now" Roxxi says,"Is it one of those dreams again?"

I nod. And then, suddenly, the train jerks and stops. The lights flicker on and off.

You can NEVER escape death..........

The king became very angry and sent the follower to prison.

One day, the king went hunting in the jungle. He got excited when he was on the chase of a deer. Deeper and deeper he went inside the jungle. In the end he found himself lost in the jungle. To make thing worse, he got captured by the native people living inside the jungle. They wanted to sacrifice him to their god. But when they noticed that the king had one finger short, they released him immediately as he was not a perfect man anymore and not suitable for sacrifice.

The king managed to get back to his palace after all. And he finally understood the follower's wise quote, 'Good or bad, hard to say'. If he hadn't lost one finger, he could have been killed by the native people.

He ordered the release of the follower, and apologized to him. But to the king's amazement, the follower was not mad at him at all. Instead, the follower said, 'It wasn't a bad thing that you locked me up.'

Why? Because if the king hadn't locked the follower up, he would have brought the follower along to the jungle. If the native found that the king was not suitable, they would have used the follower. Again, the quote 'Good or bad, hard to say' stands.

The moral of the story :

In everything that happens in this world, there is no absolute good or bad.

Sometimes good things turn out to be bad things eventually, while bad things become a gain.

Whatever good things that happen to you, enjoy it, but don't have to hold too tight to it, treat it as a surprise in your life. Whatever bad things happen to you, don't have to feel too sad or in despair, in the end, it might not be a total bad thing after all. If one can understand this, he or she will find life much easier.

Unhealthy Competition (Mr Wan)

I guess I have to apologise to Joslyn for the undue unpleasantness caused to her by pitting her against Jean or anyone else. Competitions are meant to be healthy and not unhealthy.

Unlike Joslyn, I myself like to thrive in competition and never like competition sour my friendship with my friends. To me, victory is sweet and losing is a lesson for me to grow stronger as long as friendship is never soured. I guess not everyone thinks like me hehe.

I'd like to appeal to 5H pupils to leave Joslyn's scores alone and instead read her enjoyable compositions even after the English exam. Her work is one of those which many can learn a lot from. Once again, I'm sorry for creating this unhealthy competition unknowingly. Friendship is more important than anything else in this world, you'll soon grow to learn.

As for Social Studies Exam, I can only say it will be the week after the PSLE Marking week. I'll inform Mr Chan the new date. I can only say it will not be Monday. Neither will it be on Tuesday as Higher Mother Tongue pupils would be having their exams. So, don't worry too much.

I intend to cancel spelling this week as there is Mother Tongue exam this week. We'll have it on the first Thursday after your PSLE Marking week.

We'll marching towards the end of the school year soon. This is the final march for both you and me and probably the last time we'd see each other in a classroom. Whatever you do, don't go through this last phase of 2007 with regrets. As you're aware, we can never buy time back.

I forget to bring my homework, I think 5 days ago. I am writing this blog for my punishment. LOLX.

I regretted what I did and I hope this will not happen again, ever again.This Blog is nice as it can reminds us or let us go into this blog whenever we miss this class when we are not in the same class in P6. I hope, 5 Honesty, will pass their exams with flying colours. I also hoped that Mr Wan, our form teacher will teach us again in P6. Mr Wan, is the spelling for Thursday the whole thing of past tense and adjectives? Can we have our mock exam sooner? I want to gained more confidence in myself. I hope I can get Band 1 also. I must have confidence as well to get Band 1 for Maths. What a great day ! hahas.. 5 Honesty, do you find this familliar? It is in the Situational Writing. I hope you know what I am refering to.

How are you ? Still struggling with your exam's practice? Well, I think that our malay schoolmates are very happy because Hari Raya Puasa is coming and soon and they no longer need to fast and will be able to eat whenever they want. Though they could not eat during fasting, we have learnt to respect them by not eating or drinking infront of them or else it will make them feel like eating or drinking which is breaking their religion's rules. we all have to try to respect each other and not to make fun of them.

HELLO.here are some details about myself.I am a person who loves toplay sports especially soccer and also running.I like soccer and runningbecause these sports help me to exercise and are also fun at the sametime. My favourite subject is science.I enjoy science as the subject isinteresting and I can do a lot of experiments.My favourite dish is sweetand sour fish and black pepper prawns with plain rice because they aretasty and are also cooked by my mother.Soft drinks are my favouritedrinks as they can quench my thirst. On friday,i was very happy because that day was games day.I was
one of the endeavour pupils!! That day was very very fun because there
was games,magic show,cheering competition and endeavour house
teachers and persevere house teachers versus each other in captain's
ball.At last,the persevere house teachers won the match but the difference
in the score was only one.The endeavour pupils and i are still very happy because we had won the cheering competition against persevere!!The cheers are quite nice and nice to cheer!!About the magic show,the tricks are quite real but i don't believe in magic actually.the magician was funny
but not so funny as Mr Bean.Like about 5 minutes later after the magic
show,Mrs Wong,our school principle,make a speech about children's day.
Our shoes were all very dirty because the previous day was raining and we
played rounders at the school field so there were muddy places at the field
so our shoes are grassy and also dirty but as long as i am happy.I hope
there is such a day again!!!!!my bestfriends are also as happy as I am!!!

Sorry Mr Wan. I am sorry that I forgot to bring my journal. I did not do it on purpose. On Monday night, after I had done finish my journal, I left it on my bedroom table. I forgot to pack my bag that night. Than the next day I pack my bag in the hurry. When I reached school that morning, I than realised that I forgot to bring it.I apologisd that my forgetfulness.I promised that I will not do it again.Please forgive me.

We actually wanted to make a haunted house. (I think that we already made it about less than half. Luckily we did it slowly for a few weeks.) See Ying just told me this information yesterday.
I think Vivian still don't know about it because no one answered the phone when I called her yesterday. I think that I should e-mail her later. See Ying said that she will be doing it within this Sunday and today and we do not need to do with her as her mother will be helping her in it. I told her that we should also help her but she said no. (I think)
